We want everyone to enjoy their stay, so please take a moment to read through our house rules. They’re here to keep the guest house safe, peaceful, and welcoming for all our guests.

No smoking – The Mariners Guest House is strictly non-smoking throughout, including all bedrooms, communal areas, and doorways. This includes vaping and e-cigarettes. If you wish to smoke, please do so directly outside the front door, ensuring the door is closed behind you to prevent smoke entering the building. Guests who smoke inside will be charged a £100 cleaning fee to cover deep cleaning and re-airing.

Quiet hours – Please keep noise to a minimum between 10:00pm and 8:00am out of consideration for other guests. The building carries sound, so even normal conversation can travel.

Visitors – You’re very welcome to invite a visitor in for a chat or a drink — just let us know in advance so we’re aware they’re in the building.

Adults only – The Mariners Guest House is an adults-only establishment. We do not accept guests under the age of 18.

Pets – Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate pets, with the exception of registered assistance dogs.

Keys – Please carry your front door key with you at all times when leaving the building, including for short trips to the car. The front door locks automatically on closure, and we may not be available to let you back in outside office hours. Replacement key fobs are charged at £30.

Damages – Accidents happen – please let us know straight away if anything gets broken or damaged so we can sort it out together.

Towels & linen – Please use the bath mat after showering, and try to be mindful with makeup, fake tan, and hair dye around our white towels and linens. Small marks are no problem – but if any heavier staining does happen, please let us know so we can set those towels aside for special treatment in the wash. Thanks for helping us keep them lovely!

Fire safety – Please familiarise yourself with the fire safety information in your guest book and by the front door. If the fire alarm sounds, leave the building immediately via the nearest exit and assemble at the agreed assembly point.

In the unlikely event of a problem – Please come to us first. We’d rather know about an issue while you’re here so we can put it right, than read about it in a review afterwards.

Thank you for helping us keep The Mariners a lovely place to stay!
